The Joy of Cooking (Redesign)

I tried to keep a classic style with this redesign, while still making it a little more accessible with the paper binding I chose to use, the typefaces I chose and the negative space I left to let the design breathe. My hope is that you can not only use this book in the kitchen, but also curl up on the couch and dream about your next delicious meal.

The Occult Vatican

A book cover design based on a mysterious letter sent to the Vatican called Three Secrets of Fatima, which is rumored to be a prophetical letter about the future of the church. To date, only two of the letters have been released, while the third has only been partially released. It is unknown what the letter reveals.

The design itself can only be read if the top cover is slid precisely over the bottom cover, so the blanks are filled — then it should be held up against a mirror, as the letters are flipped.

Futuristic Dustbuster

If the 1980’s had taken place in outer space, this is the dust-buster everyone would own.

This is made with 8# foam, acrylic, bondo, catalyzing primer and automotive paint and finish.

Bento

A wooden bento box for various everyday uses. Everything is hand made, from the belt, buckle, the wood is hand-milled and the lid is painted acrylic.

Little Dude in CMYK

I took this guy from a sketch I’ve been doing since high school and turned him into a polyurethane cast toy.

UNESCO Posters

Two posters I designed for the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization.
They are intended to reveal the viewers prejudices against Islam and those who practice it.

The first poster features two faces, the half on the left is of a woman wearing a hijab, the other half is of a woman wearing a nun’s habit. Both headdresses are worn for very similar reasons, yet the hijab would set off alarms in many people’s heads that a nun’s habit would never set off.

The second poster is done in a mad-libs style that leaves the readers prejudices to arise on their own. The words that can be filled in can either be neutral or not. Even the most liberal of an audience may find themselves filling in some rather stereotypical or inflammatory words.
